- What is the temperature range for the temperature probe?
- For the sap temperature probe devices, the temperature range is -55°C to +125°C (-67°F to +257°F), with an absolute maximum temperature of 266°F. The temperature probes used with these devices are digital (there is an electronic chip in the tip of the probe), which makes them resistent to electrical or magnetic interference, they never need recalibration, are both accurate and precise, and have a low power draw.
- What can cause my sap temperature device to say “Check temperature probe!”?
- This message is displayed on the screen when the device loses communication with the probe. The most common reason for this message is the probe connector is not making a good connection with the device. With the probe connected, look at the three rectangular holes on the probe connector and check if you see all three metal contacts pushed forward towards the device. If the probe connector is damaged a new connector can be installed for the cost of shipping.
